In a nutshell

In this role, you will be leading from the front where you will be accountable for leading the marketing communications and visual merchandising programme that drives footfall into our estate of retail stores. You’ll work with the broader Marketing team to drive demands and, in particular to maximise the role of CRM in booking appointments for Sales Advisors to reduce “down time” of retail staff. You'll also have a focus on an omnichannel strategy.

You will be accountable for helping to manage the Retail P&L and you’ll work closely with the divisional Sales Leaders to ensure that resources are appropriately weighted across the retail estate and that wastage is minimised. You’ll be looking to extend our Virgin Holidays Destination stores to target towns.


Day to day

As an inspirational leader you will coach & lead your team to achieve brand & financial targets. You’ll build outstanding cross-functional relationships between Retail Division Managers, the broader Marketing team and Brand Identify team through effective collaboration and stakeholder management.

You’ll be planning and implementing marketing activities to drive retail demand, defining and developing the annual marketing calendar to fulfil commercial objectives. Additionally delivering highly engaging and tailored marketing activities for individual stores based on deep knowledge of the local catchment area and store needs. You will identify and implement new opportunities to drive incremental footfall and enquiries.

Continually assessing and refining marketing tactics, you will ensure our agility in responding to new opportunities and threats and, where appropriate you will rapidly deploy new activities to enhance or improve trading performance. This will involve monitoring competitor positioning to ensure that Virgin Holidays is appropriately represented in stores and shopping centre locations.

As a Customer experience champion for the retail environment you will define customer requirements and target purchase experience across our stores network and digital platforms. Collaborating with different functions to ensure every customer touch point is as coherent, easy and intuitive as possible from a marketing communication perspective.

As the guardian of investment of the retail marketing budget, you’ll balance between trading pressure and brand promise. With conscientious budget management you’ll also ensure that campaigns and collaterals are delivered timely, within budget and as efficient as possible.


About you

Are you a resourceful and highly resilient self-starter with a high degree of commercial acumen who enjoys continuously re-prioritising budgets/resources to deliver best “bang for your buck”? do you have an entrepreneurial and highly creative mind and enjoy generating ideas and seeing them through to successful execution?

We are looking for someone who has a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Additionally you will have robust MS office skills - MS Word, Excel, Power Point. With excellent project and stakeholder management skills, you’ll be adept at working under tight time pressure and budgets.

With strong communication skills, you will be comfortable influencing upwards across non-Marketing divisions and you will have the ability develop deep strategic, trusting and collaborative relationships with your respective teams.
