Location:  A mixture of the VHQ, Crawley, West Sussex and London (working in London agencies / from home 2 days per week)

In a nutshell

Are you a strong strategic thinker with a consumer-centric approach to developing brand strategy?

This is a fantastic new opportunity within our business where you will be leading ongoing brand planning, campaign development and delivery to drive target brand and commercial objectives in the UK. You will be responsible for growing awareness, consideration and preference for Virgin Atlantic brand in the most efficient way.

You’ll lead the day-to-day interface with our agency partners to ensure appropriate performance standards are upheld across the partner roster, with feedback given at structured intervals.

Supporting our VP of UK Marketing and Head of Brand Strategy and Campaigns, you will define the long-term brand strategy, working flexibly across the wider Marketing team to understand the 360 degree levers to advance our brand.


Day to day

As an inspirational leader you will coach & lead your team to achieve brand & financial targets. You’ll build outstanding cross-functional relationships across Product, Commercial and Sales teams through effective collaboration and stakeholder management.

Playing a pivotal role in the Brand Strategy and Campaigns team, you will lead the integration and delivery of the brand strategy within internal teams to fully embed new brand positioning across all marketing disciplines.

You’ll be a brand owner and guardian with a strong point of view and the ability to articulate this to the business.

Driving the business and team towards a culture of consumer-centric marketing planning that is 6 to 12 months in advance, and balancing long term ambition and short-term activations will be key. You’ll support the development of annual plans for Virgin Atlantic/ Holidays which delivers brand & commercial targets whilst fully leveraging synergies.

Leading the generation of brand, consumer and where relevant, market insights through data analysis to identify longer term opportunities for growth. Sharing insights across the organisation, actioning these via campaigns and using these to influence consumer PR activities and CX design.

Leading brand performance tracking and proactively sharing results across the organisation.

With conscientious budget management, you will ensure that campaigns and collaterals are delivered timely, within budget and as are efficient as possible.


About you

Do you have significant experience in brand management across multiple categories? Have you previously created and repositioned or grown brands to meet against consumer needs, delivering brand architecture, communication programs, innovation launches and brand activations?

Being a strong strategic thinker, you’ll have a consumer-centric approach to developing brand strategy. You’ll need to be an inventive self-starter with a high degree of commercial acumen with a proven track record of applying consumer and business insight to shape strategic business and brand plans. With a strong analytical mind, you will have the ability to create robust analysis and meaningful insights to drive actions and highlight opportunities. Robust MS office skills - MS Word, Excel, Power Point are essential for this.

We are looking for an inspirational cross functional team leader who can coach our people to superior levels of performance and help to support their career growth. Project and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work under tight time pressure and budgets is also a key to this role.
