The Marketing & Industry Solutions department resides within the PP&IS (Performance Polymers & Industry Solutions) business, one of the 3 business groups that make up the Petrochemicals SBU. The Global Marketing & Industry Solutions department is the incubator for New Segments, including Caps and Closures Segment (with revenue of ~$250 mln and strong growth track record and ambition).

Job Purpose & Responsibilities

In this Internship, you will support the Caps & Closure Segment team and Market Development Technical Support (MDTS) with (new) ways to initiate new customers, create new business. As part of the assignment, you will be responsible for lead generation, follow-up with prospects, any form of communication, creating marketing tools (for example one pagers or case studies).

We are looking for some fresh input, creative ways, outside the box methodologies to screen our current customer base, how to expand that customer base and how to expand to different regions (for example outside Europe).

Creation of case studies (one pagers) is one of the priorities on our action list, so any form of creativity, technical input, insights and knowledge is welcomed, to create sustainable, lean and durable approaches and make solid improvements.

In summary, there are 4 major tasks at hand:

  1. New leads generation (market intelligence and customers list management)
  2. Cold calling and follow up actions (customers relations set up and technical presentations)
  3. Creation of marketing tools to serve the cold calling process and to strengthen and secure further communications with customers (marketing communication with the use of technical knowledge)
  4. Support the MDTS team with complaint handling and gain extensive knowledge of all aspects of our business


We have room for about 9 to 12 months, for 2 to 3 days per week, which makes it easily combinable with writing a thesis.
For this particular internship, the best matching studies are Plastics engineering and business & technology.

During the entire internship, there will be support and coaching available from sales executive for SABIC’s HDPE Business Unit.
