General Information about SABIC
SABIC is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of chemicals, fertilizers, plastics and metals. We supply these materials to customers, who use them to make products on which the world has come to depend.
We are the largest and most reliably profitable public company in the Middle East based in Riyadh. Our success is the result of our focus on three key areas: investment in local partnerships, outstanding research and technology programs, and an ambitious global growth strategy. Last, but certainly not least, because of our talented employees with a passion to deliver.
In Europe, SABIC employs over 6,000 professionals and is running six world-scale production sites and four technology & innovation centers. We are present in almost every European country. Major locations within our broad network of innovation, production and marketing are: Teesside (UK), Cartagena (Spain), Gelsenkirchen (Germany), Geleen (Netherlands), Bergen op Zoom (Netherlands), and Genk (Belgium). Based upon this strong fundament, we are a key producer of olefins, poly-olefins, engineering thermoplastics resins, films and sheets in Europe.
The Supply Chain Polymers department is responsible for planning, order handling, warehousing and distribution of more than 3 Million ton of polymers in Europe. The Supply Chain Solutions department is responsible for defining, executing and implementing improvement projects.
The ERP system within SABIC is SAP ECC. During a year, many changes, updates or improvements are developed. It is essential to test changes before release to the live environment. By performing tests, teams validate that what has changed does not have any negative impact and that the changes are build according to the agreed requirements. Testing can be extensive or for a small part of SAP, depending on the impact of the implemented change. In order to facilitate this testing properly and efficiently, the users create test scripts. Storage of these test scripts takes place in a test catalogue.
We would like you to review the current test scripts, suggest updates and improvements, creating the set-up for specific sections and perform updates accordingly.
1) Review the current test catalogue test scripts together with teams (update if required, at least all core processes need to have an up to date test script)
2) Improve the test catalogue structure in which the test scripts are stored (translate test catalogue in similar structure in excel)
3) Test catalogue needs to be based on separate building blocks, so pending on change a dedicated test catalogue can be generated
4) Create a list of standard pre-work activities, e.g. data required in the test environment (customer details, material details, inventory etc)
This assignment will require process related thinking, communication skills, active listening skills and conceptual thinking capabilities.
