Through excellent relationship with the Oxford City Council, we’ve won more trade work in Oxfordshire. As a result, an opportunity has arisen for a Street Lighting Operative to fulfill the demand.
 
We have an exciting opportunity for a Street Lighting Operative to join a small team based at our Oxford Depot. The Street Lighting Operative will pay a key role in the delivery of superior service to our client.
 
 

To be successful in this role, you should be able to work as a part of the team and individually. You should have a great attitude towards adhering our values that puts people first and a good knowledge of working in outdoor aspects of electrical installation and maintenance works.

What will this role involve?

  • Carry out all aspects of installation and maintenance of electrical equipment
  • Carry out routine maintenance Block change and clean lanterns
  • Should be able to work at heights of up to 12 metres
  • High demand for physical tasks i.e. digging
  • Provide support to other Amey contracts as required
  • occasional contact with statutory undertakers operative
  • Responsibility for the security of plant, tools and materials
  • Responsible for the safe use of vehicles
  • Responsibility for wearing all PPE
  • Promote and follow health and safety procedure at all times
  • Attendance at regular tool box talks
  • Attend all required training
  • Excavate for bollard and sign foundations
  • Occasionally unsociable hours and overtime and to undertake emergency call out and standby may be required

 

What are we looking for?

  • Appropriate qualification to electrical trade
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Knowledge of electrical testing procedures
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) and be able to manage stakeholders at all levels
