What is the purpose of this role?

At Amey we are passionate about making roads safe and keeping people on the move.  From design and implementation through to operation and asset management, we understand the need for well-functioning road networks.  Within our Highways Business Unit we are recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller to partner with the business management team and ensure that both internal and external accounting and reporting requirements are delivered and that control standards are met. 


You will business partner with the Account Directors, working as part of the senior management team to ensure robust cash management is in place across a portfolio of contracts.  Reviewing performance, managing risk and identifying opportunities to achieve optimal financial performance will be an integral part of this role, followed by the implementation of profit improvement plans if needed.  You will also be heavily involved in strategy, planning and analysis.

What are we looking for?

To apply for this role, you will be a CIMA or ACCA qualified professional with a commercially focused track record of delivering financial improvements in an operational environment.Excellent knowledge of accounting practices, statutory regulations and reporting requirements is a given with the ability to challenge existing processes and identify new ways of working and deliver efficiencies. You will have the presence and ability to manage a team (some of which will be remote) and influence and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
