Amey Strategic Consulting & Technology is one of the UK’s leading asset data consultancies in infrastructure. Having grown a team of over forty people in three years, we are a fast-paced start-up within a large infrastructure operator. Our cross-discipline team gives us a unique perspective on capital investment, operational expenditure, how assets create business value and how organisations carry and manage risk.

We use data analytics and in-house software to create new insights that help our clients understand and improve the performance of their businesses. Working with major international system integrators, we are bringing big data and cloud technology to the infrastructure business.

From boardroom down and technology up, our understanding of the complex, interconnected systems that make up a business enables us to create a line of sight between corporate strategy and asset operations, and to take on and solve the toughest problems for vital strategic infrastructure organisations. Our clients include Heathrow Airport, Network Rail, London Underground and New York MTA.

Our salaries are competitive and benchmarked against other major London-based consultancies. We are hiring at all levels and we will map you to our Talent Framework during the interview process:

· Consultant – typically graduate up to five years’ experience

· Senior Consultant – three to ten years’ experience or relevant academic achievements

· Principal Consultant – eight years or more experience.


Main purpose

· Assisting our clients in developing asset management policy, strategy and objectives in alignment with the overall corporate objectives and requirements of our client organisations, and communicating and embedding these into the organisation structure

· Co-ordinating the development, review and implementation of asset management plans that take a whole life cost view of complex asset portfolios. The ability to understand asset cost, risk and performance trade-offs is an essential input to these plans, as is the ability to analyse cost options and prioritise investment based on business risk. To support transformation through the delivery of solutions to our client’s business, up to corporate level, in the areas of asset management strategy, organisational strategy, business change and transformation, investment, finance, and operations

· To support our clients through asset management transformation programmes such as ISO55001 certification

· To understand the stakeholder environment of clients and contribute to the formation of strategy in relation to the management of their infrastructure assets, and transformation of their business

· To undertake appropriate analysis to understand client’s risk, performance and cost profile and support any change process in order to meet the client’s overall business objectives

· To present the findings and solutions to clients at board level and below

· To collaborate with Amey colleagues to develop the company profile and enhance the overall offering that Amey takes to market

· To work with others on the team to develop innovative solutions to challenging problems within the infrastructure sector

· To take responsibility for the delivery of particular parts of projects to meet or exceed the expectations of the client.


The following skills and experience are essential:

· A bachelor’s degree or higher level qualification

· Have a thorough working knowledge of the theory and practice of asset management as stated in the requirements of PAS 55/ ISO 55001 and described within the Asset Management Landscape

· Have a persuasive leadership style and be a good communicator at all levels. The ability to liaise with any organisational function that contributes to the efficient delivery of asset management activities is essential. This will include finance, engineering capital programmes and HR amongst many others. Effectively managing people and cultural challenges of organisations of varying maturity is a skill that will be tested and is vital to delivering exceptional results to our clients

· Be effective in engaging internal and external stakeholder groups that have an influence on or are influenced by the asset management system

· An understanding of the interactions between financial and non-financial (technical) decision making and the application of financial management principles relevant to asset management at all stages of the asset lifecycle is essential

· Candidates need to have an understanding of competency requirements for specific activities within all stages of an assets lifecycle such as maintenance and project delivery/handover and the ongoing verification of those competency requirements

· A good understanding of asset and asset management risks and how they are identified, analysed, evaluated and treated in accordance with industry good practice risk management frameworks

· Have a thorough understanding of asset data and information requirements for the asset within a portfolio. Understand asset performance requirements and the analysis techniques needed to verify that assets are meeting the required levels of service. Be effective in engaging with internal analysis and technical groups responsible for delivering analysis to stakeholders. Additionally have the ability to investigate non-conformances using root cause analysis techniques

· The ability to co-ordinate asset management improvement programmes to ensure that a culture and system of continuous improvement is embedded within the fabric of the organisations we work with.
